[Confession] My Secret Romance Episode 1
Before anything else, I would like to define my drama reviewing:
First, I won't be posting episode recaps for dramas because i don't trust my character - I tend to get lazy when I have routines to accomplish and
Second, sometimes when I decide to watch a drama, I depend my continuance on the first episode. So if ever I am interested in a drama, I will watch the first episode and I will review it just to see how it goes. If I liked it, I'll have a continuation review after I finished the whole thing.
Kke, let's go! :D
Oohhh~ another gem from OCN. I can't believe that channel is kicking right now. I actually took a research on it and found some underrated dramas that I've seen before but never bothered to watch. I'm glad OCN is finally taking it's toll and gaining popularity from their dramas now. So yeah, my third installment on my K-drama First Episode Hunt, I present to you: My Secret Romance.

Here is the synopsis of the drama:
Jin-wook and Yoo-mi meet at a Gangwon-do resort and get caught up in a series of misunderstandings and accidents. Yoo-mi was charmed by Jin-wook's sly and playful personality, and they unexpectedly spend the night together. However, Yoo-mi disappears in the morning, leaving Jin-wook feeling perplexed and irrationally angry.
Three years later, the two meet again when Yoo-mi becomes a nutritionist at the company cafeteria where Jin-wook works. They pretend to not recognize each other, while fighting their attraction for each other. Finally Yoo mi admits that she remembers the incident. Jin-wook asks her the reason why she left him and she replies that it was just a one night stand.
After finishing the Episode 1, I told myself "This is it. This is fcken it." This is the drama I want to watch next. This drama may have a typical story, but I am in a mood for that kind of story.
The fact that although it’s a typical rom-com of a drama, with an inspiration of Fated to Love You, I couldn’t help but feel giddy while watching it. It’s like a guilty-pleasure and I loved every second of it. The grand over-the-top gestures, over-dramatic acting, and serious cheese factors are alluring to say the least, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds (although, I think it’s pretty predictable)! The story moved at a great pace and Sung-Hoon was just killin being the sly guy - never imagined him in that kind of role after Oh My Venus!
There’s nothing more to really say about My Secret Romance except that if you’re not into very predictable, slapstick-type humor, then this drama might not be for you. There’s also some cheesiness, but it’s balanced out by the racy parts, and overall, it’s a light-hearted drama that doesn’t involve too much thinking.
Needless to say, I’m looking forward to the whole show since it's only until Episode 13. Thank you Kdrama First Episode Hunt, for I will be sleepless again because of this!
